Our Story
From a small idea in Reykjavík to a platform shaping how people learn cybersecurity.
The Spark in Reykjavík
Aktræn started in Reykjavík. Iceland is tiny. What if local companies could fight each other online? Like a battlefield. Get better at security by actually doing it, together.
Compete. Defend. Attack. Training that feels like a game you want to win, not another course to click through.
The Eyvor Grant

The idea got picked up. Aktræn received the Eyvor Grant, an Icelandic fund that backs cybersecurity related projects.
The grant helped build the MVP. Turned a rough idea into something you could actually use. Different from the usual course libraries. A world, not a playlist.
Building the Arena
Small team. Big ambition. The goal: create a cybersecurity training platform that doesn't feel like training.
By August 2025, the Arena was ready. Not perfect, but usable. First schools started testing it with their students.
EuraTechnologies Incubator

Aktræn got selected for the EuraTechnologies incubator in Lille, France. A 6-month program focused on product-market fit.
The project moved to France. Access to mentors, office space in northern France, and a network of founders building real products.
The Story Continues
Still going. New features, new missions. The Arena keeps getting better. Good stuff coming.
Our Mission
Make people better at security. That's it. We think you learn by doing, so we built a place to do it.
Learn by Doing
No slides. No quizzes. Hands-on from minute one.
Crafted in Iceland
Built where it's cold and the internet is fast.
Built for Teams
Train together. Compete together. Learn together.
